Starting a Rental Business ( canopy, tables, chairs)

RENTAL BUSINESS

Chairs, tables, canopy  are very essential party equipment. Most events such as weddings, meetings, conferences, family reunions, birthday parties, naming ceremony require seating for guests. Opening a rental business will help meet those needs. In villages for example, people make good monies from renting canopies, chairs and tables for burials, weddings etc.

Event organizers and planners have to secure enough tables and chairs to suit the numbers of guests they are expecting. Since purchasing tables and chairs is costly, event planners and organizers turn to rental services.

Some of the advantages of this business is that it is very stress free, it can be done part time etc.

Equipment -  Equipment you may need to have will include chairs, tables, truck (for transporting chairs from place to place) paper, table cloths, plastic utensils and napkins, flat ware and real glassware.

If you intend to provide catering services then you would need caterers who can bake cake, pizza etc. if you are going this direction then you have to consider handling things like soft drinks and beer for bachelor's party.

The point is that as you continue you can even be given the opportunity to organize even some event. You may also be required to provide entertainment for the party.

Pricing – pricing will defer, depending on the services you render. Take into account everything you must have spent including utilities, labor cost, rents, supplies, vehicle fuels etc.

-         VISIT A RENTAL COMPANY AROUND YOU – There are a lot of rental companies here in this country. From small rental companies to big rental companies. Consider the services they offer, their pricing, how many staff they have etc.

-         MARKET YOUR PARTY RENTAL BUSINESS – Run an advert on local newspapers as often as you can. Offer discount. Place posters around the town.

OTHER THINGS YOU HAVE TO CONSIDER
-         You may need to obtain a business license – you are also expected to register your business at the Cooperate Affairs Commission (CAC).

-         You need to be able to deal with damage – chairs or other equipment can be damaged during occasion.
