Why You Should Not Ignore Farm Business now in Nigeria.

Why You Should Not Ignore Farm Business in Nigeria.

Currently in Nigeria farming is the next big thing. I have  several reason why you should not ignore farming business today. when I say farming, I mean a well calculated and analyzed approach.

If you are following world economy you will discover the agriculture is Nigeria next big thing. there is an agricultural revolution coming up. And it is not just something anybody can delve into, you have to grow in it. Mechanized farming is the next big thing.

You can start by renewing your mind in this direction. Most Nigerians think that farming is all about carrying hoes and cutlass, there is more to agriculture than that.  Before I will begin to give you reasons why you should not ignore agriculture. I want you to have an open mind to innovation.

In one of our post STARTING A PLANTAIN FARM, I shared shelu’s testimony who started plantain farming and became a millionaire in less than 2 years.
Before we continue, I would want to let you know the most important factor for any form of agricultural venture. Land is your number one factor. Nigeria is filled with  well naturally manure land that has not been explored.

Since the discovery and exploration of oil in Nigeria, Nigeria has become an increasingly lazy nation. currently oil price is falling, it no longer in high demand like it used to be. Sometimes I would want to think of Nigeria oil as a curse instead of a blessing. If the purpose of a thing is not know they say above is inevitable.

Below are my strong reasons you should reconsider Agric Business

-         A lot of government Aid- currently there are several government Aid, that you can take advantage of irrespective of how corrupt Nigeria may seem.
There is an association for almost any field of agriculture in Nigeria. Joining any of your interested crop or animal farming association will help you know when there is aid in that field.

These things am stating here are very practical. I have visited some Agricultural association here in Abuja which have branches all over Nigeria. There are a lot of advantage you will enjoy as a result.

I will state what I discovered when I visited cassava growers association of Nigeria. You will be amazed to know that all you need to do is just to grow them. The association presents you with a healthy and a good specie of cassava stem. You also get access to government loans ( these are not financial loans )  you get your loans in from of  service.

Example – if you have a loan with the government through the association and you need A tractor all they need do is to send you a tractor to come perform the job and the fee will be deducted from your loan account.

There are ready buyers, who can even buy from the soil (before harvesting). The association gives you close information on what is happening.
Nigeria government is pumping big money into Agriculture.

-         No stress - this is one business you can begin to do without stress. All you need to do is to understanding how it works, where you must not delegate  etc.

so many aspect  of the farming process can be delegated to local farmers who you will have to pay for their service. The good thing is that you will always pay less than you earn always. All you need to do is to understand the  agricultural field you have chosen.

For instance if you want to start up a pig farm all you need to do is get to employ one  or two staff and a vet doctor for a start. If you will plan your business before going into it, you will make it big. Let run little analysis on rearing pig for money so that you can understand what am saying.

Let assume you intend to start with 5 pigs (one family) of which will cost anything around 80,000 Naira.
A female pig( sow), can become pregnant once it is 8 months while the male pigs( boars) becomes sexually active one they are 8 to 10 months old. A matured pig can produce twice a year or twice every 14 months that means in less than three years you must have had over 400 pigs. That has made male you a millionaire. One matured pig goes for like 20,000 to 40,000 naira depending on the size. Remember we did not consider their feed and their housing. But I can assure you that the return on investment of this business is more than 50%. Am currently working on an articles on how to rear pigs for money in nigeria.

The same thing applies to other areas of farming. All you need to do is to get the required knowledge about the farm business you intend to start.

It is very lucrative – farming is becoming more lucrative. There is a great demand of farm produce in Nigeria especially now that the government has placed ban on importation of some farm produce. Some people  take advantage of this business through buying and selling. They transport certain kind of farm produce from the north to the south. Recently, I inquired for the price of beans in Adamawa and I discovered that it was 8,000 Naira per bag, while at that same time, the price of beans in Port Harcourt goes for nothing less than 14,000 naira.

If you employ the right strategy with knowledge, you will have nothing to fear. Your profiting is sure. The only large factor anyone can think of is land. In rural areas people are ready to lease out their lands to farmers who are serious.
