Who Said Nigerians Are Poor?

“Nigeria is not poor, we only have a poor economy, our minds are productive”
Every day the country’s education system turns out an increasing surplus of graduates and in dozens, university graduates lineup for a single job opening and many more for less specialized positions.

In a number of situations, government had invested in rural areas with the aim to improve people’s standard of living. But this only does not meet the demand of the common man.

The common Nigerian needs to steady put food on the table, and he needs to be part of the nation’s economy building. These two factors alone gives rise to the never say die spirit. That spirit which has engraved in the hearts of every Nigerian, that famous slogan; “Nigeria go better”.

However statistics and records has shown that considering the country’s income pa capital only, nothing has changed since 1970.So despite being the 3rd biggest economy in Africa,Nigeria ranks around 160th out of 177 countries on the scale of the Human Development Index(HDI).
What that means in simple English language is; Nigeria is poor.

But wait! who says we are that poor?

How can we be that poor when even in the midst of high inflation and never-go-well economy, we are still creative and constantly coming up with innovations and ideas even though in few cases it might be applied negatively . Maybe structurally and economically yes,we are poor. But that’s not a major cause for alarm.
And so I say it today to every Nigerian that the worst form of poverty is that of the mind and ideas.

Poverty of the mind.
Does that tell you anything ,or does it scare you any bit?
Well it does bother me as an individual, but Nigerians are winning that one anyway.

This form of poverty is what we all has refused to fall for. As a matter of fact, it is the worst form of poverty which relates to low level creativity, absence of objective minds and idea developers. But one major thing I must commend Nigerians for, its our ability to come up with plans and innovations in every circumstance. All we need is a little push in the right direction.

The ordinary mind thinks about a white collar job, while the ambitious mind thinks beyond that. The ambitious minds are the goal-getters, risk-takers and the future planners.

Every new day we awake to numerous opportunities and chances, but in most case we fail to grasp. We all born with a head for BUSINESS. Its about that time that we stopped waiting for the government, lets start something from our own little place and build an empire. You can as well read our post on Why you must start a business today. Environment is never an excuse to that individual who wants to make a difference and go places.

We have a very long list of Nigerians who choose to stand out. Some of these inclusive are those we should derive encouragement from;
  1.      Mrs Folorusho Alakija (Fanfa Oil)
  2.      Bode Akindele (Modandola group)
  3.      Cosmas Maduka (founder coscharis group)
  4.      Late Alhaji Alhassan Dantata
  5.      Femi Otedola (chairman of forte oil)

All of these people and many others have just one thing in common. At one point in their lives, they took a decision and that decision is to MOVE.

“Dreams, desires and ambitions are nothing.
Making a move is everything, even if you
              keep Failing at it”.
