in Nigeria especially in large cities which include Abuja where more than 50% of the people here
are workers who don’t have time to wash
their cloth.\

return on investment on laundry business is more than 50%. Laundry business in
not for lazy people. Any investor who can consider clearly what it take to
start A laundry business and goes into it, in the right
location can be very sure of making it big.

of the Problem I have noticed form some of the laundry around is that they are
not serious with the business. these are at mediocre laundry.

You may need like roughly N350,000 to start in
it minimum. Which will include your rent, washing and skimming machine,
irons table, generator etc. But if you have
more money and choose to start it in a big way – better for you.
Some people may even decide not to start with
a washing machine it all depend on the capital you can raise.
- 2. You can start even in
your house . Yes laundry business is not a
business you would say unless you have
all the requirement you will not begin.

Steps To Start Your
Laundry Business.
- 1. Consider
what it takes financially- firstly you need to consider what the total
amount of money that will be requires of you. Do a through research. Find out
the exact amount of equipment in your
area, don’t assume. I said earlier that N350,000 can start for you depend on
the equipment you intend to buy and how
big you want to start.
- 2. Your
location – your location is a determinant fact that will help decide if you will succeed or not. Your location
should not be where there are a lot of competition, except off course if you
have or fell you would do better then them and charge cheaper. Highly populated
area would be good. Places close to
apartment building, estates, universities, college etc
- 3. Your
business plan – this is actually the number one step to take. Write a
business plan. A business plan explains in writing, how you intend to run the
business practically. It includes the service you will provide, including
specialized ones, like picks up and delivery.
It
will describe your marking plans, pricing, all you will need to start and to
run the business effectively.
Get Licensees-
in Nigeria we don’t care about permit because there are no restrictions. But
this is very necessary especially if you intend to start Big. Find out go to
your local government secretariat and find out.
Get trained-
I advice that you work under an expert for at least 3 months
Get all your equipment – for your location to your irons, to ironings table, to washing mashing, to
generator etc.
Publicity-
make fliers, advertise in your locality tell people in that area . place directional
sign post put your business and on social media platforms. Etc

require some technical know how if you are employing people ensure they are
experience people and if you will do it your self, consider to spend time
studying it for like two or four weeks.
All
clothes are not the same, therefore does not require the same kind of detergent
or the same heat for iron.
Consider
your power supply- here is Nigeria
through light in improving these days, you need not depend on (NEPA) get a generator
plant. A gasoline generator can do.
Before
you start your laundry business, take time to visit other laundry business
around you, to see what is happening there, if you must tell them your
intension do so. I encourage you visit at least 5 laundry business.
