Five most important qualities an aspiring entrepreneur in Nigeria must have.

The definition of an entrepreneur seems very common, something we are all familiar with, so there is no need for me to take us on a lengthy description on who is or who is not an entrepreneur.

But I’ll simply say; An entrepreneur is you, when you begin to see the gold in every piece of dust. Although this generally require a very good foresight and focus.
In Nigeria,we will always have numerous of opportunities but the mindset towards achieving this goal matters a lot.

AS once an ENACTUS team head in Entrepreneurship development while in school,in one of the crisis ridden North eastern states in Nigeria,I am going to give us exclusive information on what being a quality entrepreneur entails.
These are the Five(5) cardinal qualities every aspiring entrepreneur in Nigeria must have.

1.     Idea Initiator
An entrepreneur is always a fast thinker and creative one at it.Such a person should always have the ability to see beyond the present and perceive possibilities in every single opportunity in its disguise. The real mind of an entrepreneur should best be referred to as “god the creator” (with the small alphabet anyway). He /she makes things come into be with a mind that not just think outside the box,but even think like there is no box.

2.     Information Seeker
This second quality is also very important as knowledge they say is power. An entrepreneur with a good business idea lodged in mind is not expected to just go into executions without being equipped with all the necessary information needed. So this leads us to why every entrepreneur who wishes to succeed must be able to initiate good communication with the people in his immediate environment. This form of information seeking is referred to as the direct channel source, while the indirect or secondary source can be from business journals, online resource seeking or newspapers.

3.     Risk taker and confidence
By taking risk,I do not mean to just bullhead rush into every single venture without some calculated laid down plans. An aspiring entrepreneur must be able to take some form of calculated  risk while exhibiting a high level of confidence when at it. Such a person must not be easily discouraged when out to achieve a goal.

4.     Be branded
By this,I mean coming up with a particular brand or unique style. Such an aspiring entrepreneur in Nigeria must know how to do those ordinary or normal things others have done or are still doing,in a more stylish and exiting form.In Nigeria we call it “packaging”,this is exactly what makes you standout among other entrepreneurs.

5.     Passion and Time Management
Finally, you need to show passion and respect to that which steady puts food on your table if you really expect it grow. The idea is just simple; if you do not think big of what you are doing, then how do you expect others to rate you.

Hence in Nigeria, every single minute is very essential for you do not know when the huge sales will occur. Please if you do  want every of your effort to count,  “Never mix business with pleasure”

I wish you all a successful business venture and don’t forget that; Time na money.
